Princess Fruitcake Pinkie Pie Sawtelle

Princess Fruitcake Pinkie Pie Sawtelle. That's the name only a four year old could pick out for the newest member of our family (good thing we didn't let her choose her little sister's name, huh?)

When picking out a fish, there were only two specifics it needed: it had to be cute, and it had to be PINK.

I'm happy to report that we found one that fit the criteria!

Don't you dare judge my drawing skills. She "needs a sign, mama!"

Welcome to the family, Fruitcake. We are a noisy, rowdy bunch.. but I think you'll like it here.

Addison's First Birthday Party

I have been meaning to write about Addison's first birthday party and I just couldn't seem to find the time. I feel like I have been so busy lately, I barely get a minute to sit down at my computer! Addison is finally starting to walk, and her favorite thing to do is climb on the couch if she notices that we have walked away or turned our backs for 5 seconds.

I decided on an Olivia the Pig theme, since she loves toting around Aubrey's Olivia stuffed pig (and, let's be honest, I freaking love the tv show and books).

I made Addie's tutu, and got the girl's shirts from my good friend Sheena at The Stitchuation and I am in love with how they turned out!

I am so extremely proud of how the smash cake came out. I know it's super simple but I just adore it!

Food:

{Rule of life #63: If I, Olivia, were President, I would make cupcakes a main food group}

Decorations:

{Olivia has lots of her own "rules of life" and I wanted to incoporate that into the party. Most of them are pretty spot on!}

Each of our guests took home a Valentines card, a wallet size photo from Addie's one year shoot, and a homemade sugar cookie!

We went with a lot of red, since it's Olivia the Pig's favorite color and ties in nicely with Valentines Day!

I made the fabric garland and hung monthly photos so everyone could see how much our little lady has grown!

We loved sharing our baby girl's special day with our friends and family, and she had so much fun opening presents and seeing everyone. I still can't believe a year has passed since Addie Grace'd us with her presence! (see what I did there?)

My baby is one!

Addie Grace,

Where do I even begin? How has it been a year since I held you in my arms and stared at that beautiful, squishy face?

You are such an amazing, perfect fit to our family. Watching you play with your sister and follow her around the house fills my heart with so much love. You're two peas in a pod.

You are, by far, the happiest baby I've ever met. That toothy grin lights up everyone's faces wherever we go.

Those thighs. Need I say more?

The mullet. Come on, Addie. This is not the 80's.

Today we celebrate you, my beautiful baby. You are living proof that everything happens for a reason. God truly did bless the broken road that led me to you. I prayed every night for you, and I never could have dreamed that He would send someone as amazing as you to make our family whole.

I can't wait to see what your future holds. Dream big, and know that we will always love and support you wherever this life takes you.

Happy birthday, my little sunshine. I love you more than you could ever know.

We have a new niece!

I had been looking forward to this past weekend because I was excited to celebrate our 5 year anniversary. Little did we all know, something WAY more eventful was about to take place!!

Say hello to the newest addition to our family! Our beautiful niece, Lillian was born on Saturday evening at a little over 27 weeks gestation. She clocked in at 1lb 12oz and a little over a foot long, but man, this girl is a FIGHTER and she's kicking ass and taking names. In her short 4 days, she has gotten her breathing tube removed, the IVs taken out of her arm, and her momma got to snuggle her for the first time on Tuesday!

We haven't been able to meet her yet since she is still so small and they are being super cautious due to flu season, but my God. I can't even describe the amount of love I have for this little lady already. I worked my fingers numb crocheting a cozy blanket for her over the past couple of days and the spoiling has already started. Aubrey got in on the Lily-lovin' too and drew her a picture! I can't get over her dogs. (and the flowers, sun, and of course Aubrey, Lily & Addie playing)

Our family has truly been blessed. Words can't describe how much I am looking forward to seeing her grow.

Auntie loves you, little lady <3

Pneumonia, Frozen and the Super Bowl.

We have had quite a week. Last Monday, Addison was diagnosed with Fifth's Disease and bronchitis. After days of the bare minimum in wet diapers and a fever that wouldn't quit, I made an appointment with her pediatrician on Thursday. After reviewing x-rays and looking her over, pneumonia and a bad ear infection were added to the list. Poor kiddo :(

The doctor prescribed an antibiotic and told me to call back if her wet diapers don't pick up. Thursday night sucked, because I had to go to work and she was SO miserable. All I wanted to do was stay home and snuggle her all night.

Friday morning, nothing had changed so another call was put in to the pediatrician and she got us right back in. She noticed a lot of wheezing, which she hadn't noticed the day before. She sent us home with a nebulizer treatment and a lung steroid. I got some Pedialyte to make popsicles and we spent our whole night giving her TLC with plans to follow up with the doctor on Sunday morning.

I thought the nebulizer treatments would be torture because she screamed the whole time I was giving her the first one in the doctor's office. But once we were home and in a familiar environment, she has been fine! She even falls asleep through most of them.

On Saturday, I woke up and decided to take Aubrey to the movies to see Frozen. She has been SO GOOD during the week when all I could do is lay on the couch with Addison and being such a big help grabbing me the thermometer, tissues, etc. I wanted to treat her to something special, and it had been a couple months since we've been to the movies so she was so excited to go! We are probably the last people on earth to see the movie so I'm sure this review is nothing new, but it was such an adorable movie. I loved that it was based on two sisters, and that instead of a prince swooping in to save the day, it was the little sister.

On Sunday morning, we woke up and Addison was a whole new person. She was HAPPY again. She kept rolling over while I got her dressed. It had been a week since she did that so I knew she was finally feeling better. The doctor said she looks great. Still a little concerned with the wheezing, so we will be going back again on Friday.

I even took her 11 month picture (2 weeks late, but who's counting?)

After we left the doctor's appointment, we grabbed some food for the Superbowl. Aubrey & I had fun baking some brownies! The Patriots weren't playing so we didn't really get too into it, but I did have fun watching Bruno Mars killing it on the halftime show. I was disappointed in the commercials this year, but whatev.

I'm definitely looking forward to a low-key week!
